  1. CR seems like a better choice, but there are also many cities in America which you could learn spanish as well as improve your english. (which seems to be pretty good)

  2. I would definitely recommend for you to go to Costa Rica. Their academic standards are far better than those from Guatemala. Street interaction with locals is an important component of the learning process. Costa Ricans tend to articulate and pronounce a better spanish than Guatemalans. They are also famous among Lat Am. countries for their correct language usage.

Same thing with English. In Costa Rica you will have more academic program opportunities as well as greater chances to interact with native-English speakers (mostly seniors).

In terms of costs, Guatemala would be definitely cheaper, Costa Rica is known as Lat Am’s Switzerland for a particular reason. Expect high tuition and accommodation costs.

I absolutely don’t know about specific institutions, but I suggest you to be very careful before wiring money over. Many phony institutions in Central America dedicate to deceive international students.

  3. You can learn both in Guatemala.

Email me if you want more details.

  4. Costa Rica!
